Eurovision Song Contest 2009 Thread

Postby artziboi » 25 Mar 2009, 00:43

Is it just me or is this year really boring?

Only one's that stand out are:
Denmark (The guy has fantastic voice and I love the track!)
Spain (Kinda similar to Ani Lorak/Ukraine last year)
Finland (It's not special as a track but stands out in this crowd)
Turkey (The girl is SO FUCKING HOT and the song is good enough)
Montenegro (Fantastic, catchy Disco-Pop Song)

Greece and Russia were such dissapoinments. Sweden's entry is good but like a hot mess, weird. There was nothing as strong as there was last year. I considered last year as weakest year so far.

I love Norway's song.

Funny that you mentioned Spain, I think our song is "more of the same shit". Typical disco song with arabic sounds that are so 6 years ago.

Well, typical Eurovision song like Turkey's song. ;) But it was catchy I think.

The singer has an ego bigger than Beyonce's and Mariah's put together.

Spain's. She's also a Kate Ryan wannabe. Her album has a few great songs better than La Noche Es Para Mi though.

I just heard the whole Eurovision album and, for me, the winner will be among:

Norway
Azerbaijan
Greece
Bulgaria
Turkey
Spain*

*I know what I said above, but compared to all the other entries I think our song is good.

Norway will win anyway, I'm sure.

I've been watching Eurovision stuff on Youtube because it doesn't air here. I actually watched clips of all the previous winners which was fun. haha

The past couple years have had too many songs that are like dance/techno/pop sounding. And why are so many of them in English? That seems weird to me.

I absolutely loved a few from last year. Like I had the song from Bosnia and Herzegovina stuck in my head for a week for some reason. lol

I must admit that this year's entry from Greece isn't the best, but it's so much better than last years in my opinion.

I think that Fairytale could have (much) better lyrics, but I love love love him playing violin. I play violin too so that made me like the song more.

My favorite entry from any Eurovision is totally Verka Serduchka! *She's* so awesome.
I have no blessed clue why I love *her* music so much, but it's so fun to dance around like an idiot to it.

when i've heard who will be representing Russia i was totally shocked, the singer, the song are such a crap and the chorus is in ukrainian language, it's really awful, no doubt there was a falcification in voting, cuz everyone here in Russia hates this song and it's such a shame, cuz this girl has absolutely NO talent!
I was so excited about upcoming Eurovision here in Moscow but now i deffo won't spent my money on a rubbish like Anastasia Prihod'ko(((((((

I've watched some of the preview videos and there are actually some good ones this year. I really enjoyed Portugal, the language is so beautiful. It's the first entry since Rita Guerra that I enjoyed from Portugal. Well done! I also think Poland has a beautiful ballad, it's just a pity the singer can't sing live.

The Danish singer is an arrogant prick. My friends (who wrote the winner-up song) met him after the show and congratulated him, and he was so fucking stuck-up and ignorant.

I don't care. I love the song, that's it. It's not gonna win anyway. Something random will win this year.
