I'm sure having ALW on stage playing the piano helped with the jury vote for the UK :D But the performance was indeed very good, it felt like hearing Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls.

Well done Norway, Iceland and UK ! Norway's song was really good, i'm liking it more every time i hear it, the violin bit is great.
if anything good is happening in the SG or solo-SG forum, someone please PM me :p thx

I hear nothing of merit in Norway's song, and he's not good looking imo.

Glad UK came 5th though :D

Well done Norway. Didn't want you to win though :p

France is REALLY devastated, they thought they had a chance to win by sending an international star. Haha.

don't think so. I think they realised it's hard to win but were sick of getting 0 points so they sent Patricia Kaas and it's a win-win situation - they get some points and everyone's praising them for sending such a big star and Kaas gets free promo for her new album, Kabaret :p

Signed.

Adam wrote:Well I'm just glad that UK did well - best result for 7 years! I personally didn't think it was a great song, but, it was a really strong performance.

I Agree with that. Good for UK, good for you! This should cheer you up to send better entries again!

Kawai wrote:France is REALLY devastated, they thought they had a chance to win by sending an international star. Haha.

 She was dead boring... And almost DEAD. I feel like she's almost hundred year old.

I'm glad Sweden wasn't in Top 10. It was hidious and the performer probably had a penis under that skirt.
I'm pretty shocked about Finland. It really really wasn't that bad of a song.

To me, the French entry just sounded OTT, pretentious, and just typically 'French'.

Yeah. You're right Raluca, but from what I see from loads of forums, most of them are disapponted by the results lol.

I'm not shocked that Sweden isn't top 10 - but it was definitely one of my favourites. And yeah, Finland was pretty average, but definitely didn't deserve to be last.

She is OTT, lol. She's just boring as hell, I've never liked her anyway.

Wow, what a show, it was fantasticly organized. For the first time it was very creative and not an ordinary one. I was also impressed by the artists - so many amazing performances. Pity that many of them were underated.
I'm happy for Norway - a deserved win.
I do also like:
Lithuania
Germany
Ukraine
Greece
Armenia
Moldova
Iceland
UK
They were highlights imo.

Even I don't like Russian act - I must admit, the perfomance was very original, the idea was great.

It was a nice show, loved the stage.

But seeing how gays are threated in Russia makes me SICK. It completely ruined my hapiness for tonight.

Ok, first off, YES!!!! I posted the topic in Smalltalk when he wasn´t even the candidate to represent Norway yet that he would win, and now he did!
Very well done, proud of him for having written and composed the song himself. Thank god Eurovision isn´t all about looks and skimpy costumes, talent can actually shine through as well! Good to see! :D

I think Germany, Sweden and Ukraine were robbed! They all had fantastic songs, and I don´t think it was fair how badly they did..

I was glad to see Finland do badly as the song was utter and complete crap, dated 90´s crap!

Cool to see the Uk do good again, boring song, but well done!

You do realise you're the only one who think he's ugly ? (along with Jay tho) :p

I find him pretty cute. Not HOT HOT, but good-looking!

I Don't realize it, because I'm not the only one. There is just more people who gave their votes for him because they liked the way he looked. But this is a song contest, not a Eurovision Model competition.

I really do not think people voted for him because of his looks.
He isn´t a classic beauty, he´s a weirdo! Some people find that attractive, but if it was about looks Greece would have won, or the hunk from Germany with Dita Von Teese stripping on stage!

Well, almost all of the other contestants were better looking that Alexander, and most of them acted on it, with skimpy costumes and vulgar dancing!

Not even Alexander´s choir wore slutty dresses!

And I agree with that. But since when does this contest is about music anyway ? 95% of it is junkie music :p

@ Tim : I didn't say he was "hot" like some other entries, I said he acted like "THE angel" of the night, which prolly convinced people.

Norway deserved it, but I think Ukraine deserved a higher position.

I'm glad the UK was that high.

And lol @ Spain at #24. We deserve it for sending a 90s dated song, with a stupid performance and a singer with an ego bigger than the stage (she has been saying we would win for weeks and weeks).

Prob right, I think people might like how innocent and real he is.. The thing is, it´s not an act.. He has been semi famous for a few years in Norway, and he really is that humble, weird and eccentric.. he never really gets caught up in any of the things going on around him. He didn´t even think he would go through the semi finals!

Ok, done defending him on here, I think his victory proved enough! :D Refreshing!

I have been watching Germany a few times on youtube now, and I am shocked at how bad they did! The performance and song was fantastic!
Same goes for Ukraine, I think she had, if not the best song, 2nd best in the competition!
