Incredible sales reminds me of Girls Aloud's Out of Control era. How much did that sell first week again?

I really love this album. It's up there with Salute for me. Stronger and more cohesive then Get Weird for sure. Touch is an absolute bop. It Needs to be the second single.

She has just followed the natural path that will lead her to the "most relevant band member" status once Little Mix break up, just like Victoria and Cheryl. Only this time, she actually can sing :p

Glory Days is the girls' 1st Number One album!
They have sold just over 96,000 copies. Some of the stats are amazing:

First girl band in 8 years to have a number 1 album
Fastest Selling Girl Band album since Spiceworld in 1997

What else surprised me is that there has only been 7 different girl bands that have had a number 1 album!

Congrats to the girls, not a huge fan of this album but am so pleased they are keeping the pop torch alive.

That is crazy What Will The Neighbours Say sold so much only to get to no.6, really interested to know who and how much sold more that week.

I'm unsure about sales, but here's the top five from that week-

1. U2 - How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb
2. Robbie Williams - Greatest Hits
3. Eminem - Encore
4. Il Divo - Il Divo
5. Kylie Minogue - Ultimate Kylie

Girls Aloud were the highest new entry that week.

Is Touch the second single ?

Playing the album again I think Oops could possibly be a hit that could reach people outside their target audience.

Jamie wrote:The thing that irks me with this album is that all the songs sound like crap rip-offs of other songs.

Shout Out To My Ex = Ugly Heart
Touch = Sorry
Down and Dirty = Black Widow
FU/Oops/You Gotta Not = anything Meghan Trainor did
Your Love = has the same chorus lyric as the same song by Nicole Scherzinger

This is exactly how I felt. I am enjoying the album but the majority of it sounds like something else.

Another one is in Power Jesy's verse sounds exactly like one of the verses in Charli XCX's Vroom Vroom, they way she sings it and even rhyming lamborghini etc.

You Gotta Not also made me thing of Alexandra Burke for some reason, Start Without You...

Think my favourite at the moment though is No More Sad Songs, very catchy.

Which also has the same vibe as Sorry. :D

I agree with the above. I enjoy the album quite a lot but everything is very "let's re-do what's already been a hit". They are losing their sound and personality more and more with each record.

They had a sound, they were improving it while still being pop. They were edgy and going down a more mature (but still fun) sound, and since Get Weird and now this album they've totally sold themselves to be just like any other music act on the market offering nothing new. Obviously, it's paying off since they are at the peak of their success right now, but at what price? Considering the lack of UK girlbands lately, I rather see them selling less records but producing more personal and original material.

Good for them if that's what they wanted, though. But the current situation is one of those that you don't notice it but in 10 years time they'll be talking about how the label pushed them to release songs they didn't truly believe in, just to sell records. Watch this space.

How can 'Oops' reach a new target when it's a 'Love Me Like You Part II' ? If they wanted to reach a new target then 'Down & Dirty' or 'Power' would be the choices to go, imo. The rest of the songs on the album are pretty much the same kind of stuff they've been releasing since 'Black Magic'.

Oops, You Gotta Not, Down & Dirty and Power are such a chore to get through, especially being back to back on the tracklisting. So are the bonus tracks.

It should have been an EP.

The only song I'm not particularly enjoying is F.U.
It's catchy, but it's really not sitting well with my ears!

It's one of my least favourites, but Oops would be massive for them. Heart/Radio 2 would EAT it up.

They sound so different in this album, sometimes they remind me of Fifth Harmony / melody & harmonies - is that considered a blasphemy?!
