Will always have good memories of this song because of this performance in a Xmas Special that I had on a VHS tape.

SUYL should have been released in Aug and would of have been good promotion for Aug/Sept as they went to a few award ceremonies, then it should have gone

Stop - October 1997 before the album

Too Much - Christmas 1997

NGUOTGT - Feb/March 1998 as the live tour began

and finished with Viva Forever in May 1998 when it was due to get its initial release.

/\ that era was amazing anyway, it wasn't like 'Forever' with many lost opportunities or most of their solo ones!

I would love to have one more single of this fantastic era, but we can't complain. They performed a lot, even when touring; the press coverage was amazing and the album/singles sold well. Also, the artwork is just perfect, unlike Forever...

5 singles in 10 months at a time where they were already being criticized for being overexposed? Could have been very risky.

Stop was a great single with a great video. It was just beaten to #1 by a huge song at the time. They were spreading themselves thin at the time as well with so much going on.

Not that it matters (and really this is where the destroying their legacy shit needs to end) as Stop is now one of their most popular hits and not one jot is cared about it not being #1 back in the day.

I'm going to Ireland in May and Carnew Street (street where they filmed the video) is going to be one of my stops in Dublin! Anybody else been there?
